Opinan is a small hamlet situated near the head of the peninsula between Loch Ewe and Gruinard Bay. This peninsular, which culminates at Greenstone Point enjoys magnificent views of both sea and mountains.

To the north are the Summer Isles and The Coigach peaks and to the east, across Gruinard Bay, the impressive mountain ranges of An Teallach.
